The Panthers had two chances to close out and seal their district lead by winning one of two games. On Tuesday, April third, Palmetto played at Coral Reef High School. After leading most of the game, the Panthers ended up loosing in the bottom of the seventh inning on a walk-off hit to right field. A win there would have clinched the district. However, Palmetto had another chance on Thursday, April fifth when South Dade traveled to Coral Reef Park to play the Panthers. The South Dade Buc's had a big 6th inning, scoring four runs and putting their lead out of reach. The final score was 6-3, South Dade came out with the victory. Palmetto blew another chance to seal their lead. However, Killian and South Dade are scheduled to make up a game that had to be postponed due to no light. If Killian wins this game, Palmetto has a shot at being in the GMAC tournament.
